IWC Pilot’s Replica Watch Chronograph TOP GUN Review

IWC uses a 44.5mm-wide matte black ceramic case for the Pilot’s Replica Watch Chronograph TOP GUN, and the result is rather handsome looking for 2019.

IWC was an early adopter of ceramic as a case material, but it didn’t always use entirely ceramic cases, rather ones that were coated over metal. I found that some of these cases were more fragile than I would have liked and actually scratched.

The Luxury IWC Fake Watch matte black ceramic case is water resistant to 60 meters with a nicely AR-coated sapphire case and metal accents in the form of the caseback and the material used for the pushers and crown.

The dial is all about maximum legibility and executing what would be a traditional Replica pilot’s watch chronograph-style display. One of the few “flairs” is the red-colored subsidiary seconds dial. The dial is mostly flat, save for the slightly recessed subdials.

And the quick-adjust for the day and date is simple and foolproof, operated by the crown that sports that classic old Luxury IWC Fake Watch fish logo.

Continuing their military aviation-inspired series, Cheap IWC Replica has announced two new members of its Top Gun collection. The two new entrants—the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Top Gun IW389101 and the Pilot’s Watch Automatic Top Gun IW326901—continue the long-standing design aesthetic that IWC Replica has cultured in the pilot watch catalog, now dressed in black ceramic cases along with in-house movements for a stealthy, dark aesthetic.

We’ve seen IWC experiment with black ceramic on their pilot watches in the past, however, these two models represent a dark and utilitarian use of the material.Because of that inspiration, the IWC Replica Watchesin this line draw a heavy sense of military aesthetic. Both the Chronograph and Automatic feature a matte black ceramic case, black dials, and highly contrasting white hands and hour markers, with the signature Top Gun pop of red.

The introduction of the Pilot’s Fake Watch Chronograph Top Gun and the Automatic Pilot’s Watch Top Gun provides a contrasting option to the extensive line of pilot watches that IWC offers. While both offer a familiar aesthetic overall, they continue IWC’s fancy towards experimenting with ceramic cases, and I look forward to seeing what else IWC has in store for us.
